Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The storyline features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret group.
The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will obtain an special katana in addition to several items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
