Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
