The Two Fatalities Named in the Ivy League School Incident as Police Continue Manhunt for Perpetrator.
Two students who died in Saturday’s mass shooting on the university campus were being remembered Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter continued following the discharge by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect of interest in the case.
Remembering Ella Cook
Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his initial year at the Ivy League university, according to relatives.
His name was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.
“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. He had big dreams of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a memorial statement.
What Happened
An additional nine individuals were wounded in Saturday’s attack in the engineering building of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the university's examination week.
Authorities said late Sunday that a 24-year-man detained in a raid at a hotel about 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.
“A perpetrator remains free,” declared Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.
Neronha explained, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and head another way, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last approximately one day.”
Public Fear
The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, admitted: “We know that this is likely to cause renewed concern for our public”.
The shooter opened fire inside a classroom in the engineering facility on over the weekend, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm handgun, a authority reported to the media outlet.
Officers that raided the hotel seized two handguns and two loaded 30-round magazines when the person of interest was taken into custody, the news agency reported.
Condition of the Injured
